Working With Children Check

The person who runs ManduMagpi and writes the worksheets holds a current NSW Working With Children Check.

We do not publish the number on this page, and you should be wary of anyone who does. A WWCC number is sensitive personal information, and NSW guidance is that it should be kept out of public sight rather than posted where anyone can copy it.

What you are entitled to is the ability to check it yourself, and we would rather you did.

• Ask us and we will give you their full name, WWCC number and date of birth. Those three things together are what a verification needs.
• You can then confirm the check is current and cleared through the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian at ocg.nsw.gov.au.
• Ask at any point: before you sign up, or a year in. We will not ask why.

A check clears a person, not an organisation. If anyone else ever works with students through ManduMagpi, they will hold their own Check, we will verify it first, and this page will say so.

What we deliberately do not do

Some risks are best removed rather than managed. These were designed out of the software, not bolted over it.

• There is no messaging on this site. There is no inbox, no chat, and no way for an adult to reach a child privately through this platform. Students cannot write to each other either.
• We email students only about their own account (sign-in, receipts, a parent's agreement). For a student under 15, anything about billing goes to the parent.
• Friends, challenges and live matches share quiz scores, never words. For a student under 15 they stay off until a parent switches them on.
• We do not ask students for a phone number.

Raising a concern

Email contact@mandumagpi.com.au and say what happened. You do not need to be sure, and you do not need to phrase it carefully.

• We acknowledge within one business day.
• We write down what you told us, what we did, and when.
• We tell you the outcome. If we cannot for a reason, we tell you that instead of going quiet.
• You can raise a concern anonymously, though it limits what we can come back to you about.

If a child is at risk

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call 000.

• NSW Child Protection Helpline: 132 111, 24 hours.
• You do not need to tell us first, and we would rather you did not wait for us.
