Our approach

How we teach maths

Four things we hold to, in every lesson and every worksheet we write.

01

Understand it before you drill it

We don't hand out tricks. If a student can't explain why a method works, we go back a step — that's where marks are actually lost.

02

One plan a week, not a pile of homework

A short, specific plan beats endless past papers. Students always know what they're doing next and why it matters.

03

Practice with full working shown

Every worksheet comes with worked solutions, so a stuck student is never stuck for a week waiting on the next lesson.

04

Progress you can actually see

Tutors track topic by topic against the syllabus, so effort gets pointed at the gaps rather than the comfortable bits.

What to expect

Your first month

From the first lesson to the first progress review — no mystery about how this works.

  1. Lesson one

We find out where things actually stand

The first session is diagnostic. Your tutor works through a short set of questions with the student to find the real gap, which is usually two topics earlier than the one causing trouble.

  2. Week one

A written plan lands in your inbox

You get the term mapped against the syllabus: the topics we're fixing, the order, and the worksheets assigned for the week. Parents get the same plan the student does.

  3. Weeks two to three

Practice starts pointing at the gaps

Lessons settle into a rhythm: review the week's worksheet, teach the next idea, assign practice. Worked solutions mean a stuck student keeps moving between lessons.

  4. End of month one

    First progress review

We show you what's improved topic by topic, what's still shaky, and what changes for next month. If it isn't working, this is where we say so and change tutor or approach.

How your tutor uses the library

Three ranges, three jobs

Most students are handed one pile of worksheets and told to get through it. We split the work three ways, because revising a weak topic, learning a new one and keeping the old ones warm are not the same task and should not look the same on a Tuesday night.

Shoring up

Set when a topic is already covered but not secure.

Moving forward

Set for the topic in front of them right now.

Keeping warm

Runs every day in the background, all year.

One payment, the library for good

Usually $549, now $365 — every worksheet we have ever written — and everything we write from here — is yours. No renewals.
